Two year update

Time to blog! It's been slightly over two years since we started the project. We jumped into the colouring book frenzy at the peak of the trend sharing what we loved about Ottawa. We've kept busy this last year by giving back to the community and inspiring the young at heart. We are proud to share that our rate of donated/sponsored books is 43% of all books distributed into people's hands. One of most eye opening experience last year was going directly to the Toy Mountain before the winter holidays. https://www.instagram.com/p/BdBENcQlIbP/?taken-by=ottawaincolour One of artists, Art in Jest is working on a new project. We've said to much! One can only assume it's going to be something big.

One year anniversary in review

Thank you Ottawa in Colour has now been around for an entire year. What an incredible time, thank you! Thank you for supporting us and spreading the word. It’s been a blast! [caption id="attachment_1545" align="alignnone" width="800"] Cupcake credit: bakearama[/caption] Over a 1000 books sold and 250 given out By sustaining the project, we were able to pay it forward by participating in over a dozen community events and giving books to charity. We were optimistic, but it’s really sinking in that we’ve reached over a thousandth of Ottawa’s population in distribution, not counting household. We will now increase our social contributions! How people have used the book - Different hues for different humans Through the year, we’ve heard truly touching stories about people’s experiences. A new Ottawa resident shared the…

One crazy summer update

It's been a while since we've posted! We are now in 20 amazing stores of all shapes and sizes. Throughout the summer, we've met a lot of interesting and passionate folks! We sold a whopping 460 copies of Ottawa in Colour! We've also been keeping busy while trying our best to stay organized. Notably, we've had artist signings at a few Ottawa Chapters and Coles stores, completed a custom order with Tourism Ottawa, got to see some amazing coloured art (we get awed every time we see a new one), survived the Canada Post strike scare, continued filling up posters on Canada Day, did some colouring ourselves, met a bunch of new organizations, signed up for the Freewheeling Christmas Indie Craft Pop-up, lined-up for East Feast, and finally donated books. Overall it's…

We officially launched the Ottawa in Colour book on June 25th, 2016. Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson stopped to visit and surprised us with a plaque in recognition of collaborators of the project. CBC radio and news last week – Pre-ordering coming soon

CBC Radio and news Last week continued with progress. We were invited for an interview on the CBC Ottawa Morning interview. Following this we were featured Saturday morning on the CBC Ottawa news website. Unfortunately our website provider database crashed at the same time which resulted in frustration for everyone. Nonetheless, we are moving forward and there are now more people aware that an awesome colouring book is on its way! (Our friend currently in Japan read the news about it, so can we say international exposure?) Pre-orders Coming up, a pre-order button. Sticking with focusing the most as possible on everything from Ottawa, we are choosing to go with a Shopify button to help us with online sales transactionsJ.
